Wire Forming

Creative design and production in wire, sheet metal, and tubing. We encompass all phases of manufacturing including:
  • Prototyping
  • In-House design and built tooling
  • Wire and tubing forming
  • Sheet metal fabrication
  • Wire and strip, Fourslide/Multislide forming
  • Resistance, TIG and MIG welding
  • Secondary manufacturing operations including drilling, staking, grinding, buffing and complex mechanical assembly
  • Plating, Painting, PVC coating and Electropolishing

Production Capability

We are equipped to handle any production quantity to meet your needs. We can do this because our plant is physically divided into four sections:
  • Model Shop
  • Short Run
  • Minimum tooled production
  • Full production
The key to our production economy lies in the diversity and number of specialized machines and techniques we use.
We are equipped to form wire from 0.047" to 0.375" in diameter, but can handle diameters as small as 0.020" and as large as 0.750".

Depending on your production requirements, we use press brakes with CNC back gauging, ring and spiral formers, and specialized equipment built in house, for unusual forming applications.

For high volume production, simple and complex wire shapes are automatically fabricated on fourslide machines, which create wire forms directly from reels of wire.

Why use Wire Construction?

Lower Cost - we have developed a high degree of automation in the manufacture of wire forms and welded wire assemblies. These production efficiencies, together with reduces material costs, result in dramatically reduced part costs

Lighter Weight - Because material is used only where it is needed, a well designed wire assembly weighs only a fraction of what more conventional metal designs weigh. This reduces shipping and handling costs and is important in applications where weight is a factor.

Greater Strength - Because of the nature of the drawing process, wire is steel in one of it's strongest forms. Tensile strengths vary between 60000 and 250000 P.S.I. This strength, strategically placed using "bridge" construction techniques, results in components which are incredibly strong.

Reliability - Resistance welding is more reliable with wire than with sheet metal structures because the tangent point between two wires is smaller, and all the heat is concentrated in this area for foolproof welds. Through extensive process controls, we have advanced the art of resistance welding. With the combination of an ideal process and our controls, you achieve incredibly high reliability levels.

Durability of Finish - To ensure durability, we start with the best materials, extra clean, extra bright steel wire and electropolishing grade stainless. In plating, our open designs promote even deposition of plating for a lasting finish. We also offer a wide range of powder coatings.

Appearance - Skeletonized structures present a clean, modern appearance. This, together with the choice of proper finish, will produce a part as beautiful as it is functional.

Functional Improvements / Shock Absorbing Properties - Because wire is resilient, parts can be designed to absorb shock and vibration rather than transmitting it to adjoining structures.

Heat Dissipation / E.M.I. Shielding - Electronic enclosures, perforated metal or sheet metal can be married to wire to provide E.M.I. shielding, while keeping the benefits of free airflow and ease of assembly and testing.

Smooth Surfaces - The smooth surfaces inherent in wire structures promote better airflow, and are easily sterilized or cleaned.

We Produce Assemblies and Precision Parts

At our facility, our engineers and research people are ready to help you to make the most of wire construction. We have built our reputation by skeletonizing existing products, but the best time to call us is when you are in the early planning phases of a new project.

Our engineers will work closely with yours, analyze every function and requirements of your part, and produce a design. Depending on your needs, we can submit a drawing or a prototype.

Next, a limited production run can be manufactured for a product evaluation. This gives you fast delivery, parts without tooling, and allows for quick changes in design.

Our in-house designed and built tooling is the best in the industry. All welding fixtures confine every wire along its entire length. This enables us to hold your production tolerances consistently and also optimizes weld reliability. No other manufacturer takes the care in design and construction of tooling that we do.

Regardless of whether you requirements are immediate or for prototype, small or large volume productions, we are ready to put our experience and capabilities to work for you.

Contact us when you are in the initial design phases of a new product, when you would like to have a product redesigned to improve function and cost, or when you need your existing wire designs produced economically.
